Nokia has announced that Rolf Werner will lead the company’s operations in Europe.
Werner has more than 25 years of experience in business and industry. Prior to Nokia, he led Cognizant’s operations for the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland).
“This is an excellent time to join Nokia. It is clear that Nokia has an excellent opportunity to seize the market as one of very few companies that can offer solutions to its customers across the full range of technologies available in the industry,” commented Werner.
Earlier in his career, Werner held senior positions at Fujitsu, Global Logic, and T-Systems.
Werner will now take up the role of SVP of Nokia’s European business and report to Chief Customer Experience Officer Ricky Corker.
“I am thrilled to welcome Rolf to the company. Having a broad experience across the industry, gained in software, service providers, and in many other areas, means that Rolf will be able to help guide Nokia’s European organisation through the next stage of our corporate development,” said Corker.
Nokia expects Werner to further drive the company’s growth and market share. He’ll be responsible for deepening Nokia’s relationships with European partners and supporting the firm’s expansion into new market segments.
As we get deeper into the 5G generation and begin thinking about what comes next, Werner will need to ensure Nokia remains a leader in Europe. With nine Nokia Bell Labs research centres based in the region, he’ll have plenty of talent on hand to assist.
