SaaS can slash telcos’ costs by 25% over 5 years 

Research from Analysys Mason suggests that communication service providers (CSPs) can achieve cost savings of around 25 percent over five years by adopting SaaS.

The research – commissioned by Nokia – makes the projection based on comparing the cost of CSPs buying, managing, and maintaining their own hardware and software infrastructure.

Nokia uses 5G SA to accelerate the digital transformation of Finnish mining

Nokia is deploying a 5G SA (standalone) network in its homeland of Finland to accelerate the digital transformation of mining.

The vendor is working with mobile operator Telia and its partner Digita to deploy the network for Agnico Eagle Finland Oy.

Agnico Eagle operates the Kittilä mine in northern Finland which is the largest primary gold producer in Europe. The 5G SA network will support Industry 4.0 use cases at the mine.

Nokia to supply Africell entry into Angolese market

Finnish telecoms giant Nokia will supply network equipment to Africell for its planned entry into Angola later this year.
