GWS: AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile achieved 1Gbps+ 5G speeds at Super Bowl LV

Global Wireless Solutions (GWS) has released its latest analysis of how the major US networks handled the Super Bowl.

Network test specialists were on-site with Samsung Note 20 5G devices on AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Tests were conducted throughout the day’s festivities, including during the Gameday Fan Plaza before the game.

AT&T apologises for email about ending support for 3G phones

AT&T has apologised for issuing an email warning customers their 3G phones will stop working.

According to Statista, around 80 percent of connections in North America are now 4G. With the number of 3G connections being ebbed away by 4G and even 5G, it makes sense that AT&T is thinking about when to switch off its legacy network.

Ookla: AT&T beats Verizon in 4G speeds, T-Mobile is the 5G leader

The latest report from Ookla finds AT&T beating Verizon in average 4G speeds and T-Mobile blazing ahead in 5G.

Ookla’s 4G “speed score” for AT&T is 41.23 with T-Mobile quite far behind in second place with a score of 33.69. The other two major operators, Sprint and Verizon, are clumped close to T-Mobile with scores of 31.53 and 30.77 respectively.
